Statement of Faith

• We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired, undivided, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  (Matthew 4:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 15:4; 1 Peter 1:23;2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)
• We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; Matthew 11:27; John 10:37-38; John 14:8-11;
  1 John 5:7)
• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and redemptive death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory. • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is biblically essential. (John 3:3-8; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:18-23; Titus 3:5; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:1-3; 1 John 1:7-9; 1 John 5:1-4)
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling and empowerment the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life and through whom the Spiritual enablements are operational in the Church today. (John 7:39; John 14:15-18; John 16:7-15; Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:17-21; Romans 12:6-8)
• We believe that God has provided to desiring believers an enduement of Spiritual power for the evangelization of the lost. (Acts 1:4-5, 8; Acts 2:1-4, 38-39; Acts 10:44-46; Ephesians 4:11-12; Acts 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Romans 8:26-27)
• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Matthew 25:31-33; Mark 9:43-47; John 5:25-29; Acts 17:30-31; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15)
• We believe in the Spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5; Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-5; 1 Corinthians 12:14-27; John 17:22-26; Colossians 3:12-15; Hebrews 10:23-25; Ephesians 4:11-13)



About Bethany:

Bethany Grace Community Church is a nondenominational Christian church located in Bridgeton, NJ.

A nondenominational church is an evangelical Christian church that, while not a member of any one Protestant denomination, seeks fellowship and common cause with other evangelical churches and ministries across denominational lines.

We believe in historical, Biblical Christianity as expressed by the great creeds and confessions of the early church and the Reformation. We value a gospel-based approach to ministry, expressed in a loving community, centered around God's truth, empowered by God's Spirit, focused on God's glory, and fleshed out for today's world that shares his love across the street and around the world.

Bethany Grace Community Church has a rich legacy of faith having been born from Bethany Presbyterian Church, Second Presbyterian Church of Bridgeton, and Irving Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Our Mission and Purpose:

The purpose of Bethany Grace Community Church is to know Christ and to make Him known.  Our purpose is fulfilled within the boundaries of our Faith.  Our Statement of Faith connects us with other Christians in the Body of Christ.  Our Church Covenant connects us with each other as members of Bethany Church.  Our mission is to love God through worship, study, fellowship, and outreach.  By God’s grace, Spirit, strength and guidance, we seek to bring people into relationship with Jesus and membership in His family; develop them to Christ-like maturity; and equip them to serve others, act with justice and compassion, and share in our mission in the world. 

Our Church Covenant:

We, the members of the Bethany Grace Community Church, having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, do hereby covenant with each other before God to:

Love God with all our hearts, soul, strength and mind and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

Be a family of Grace; to be committed to each other; to love, accept, and forgive each other until death or God’s call causes us to part.

Live in Jesus Christ and take His commands seriously by studying His word and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to live it out faithfully to bring glory to  God.

Strive for the advancement of this Church in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; and to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support the ministry, the expenses of the Church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel to all nations.

To be faithful in prayer for one another and the world.

By God’s grace, we seek to bring honor to the Body of Christ by maintaining a good testimony.  We enter into this covenant because we have the common purpose of obeying Jesus Christ, and because we believe that we need one another’s help to do this.
